Risk Maturity Benchmark

You can complete or update your assessment at any time during the financial year (1 July to 30 June).

On 30 June, we take a snapshot of your assessment score. This becomes your official maturity score for that financial year.

At 30 June we take all the submitted results and create an annual benchmark you can use for comparison.

To complete the assessment, you will:

• answer yes or no questions across four topics (or review and update last financial year’s answers)

• see your organisation’s results, including your maturity score

• choose improvement actions from a list to create a tailored action plan

• update your action plan over time to improve your results

• access benchmarking results and reports once the assessment period closes

By completing the assessment, you can:

• understand how well your existing risk management practices are working

• identify opportunities to strengthen and improve your risk management practices

• check how well your risk framework aligns with VGRMF requirements

• track progress over time by comparing results year to year

• see how your organisation compares with others

• improve your results before they are finalised for annual benchmarking.

This is an ongoing service. You can review your answers as often as you want throughout the financial year.

Once you finish the self‑assessment, you’ll receive a list of improvement actions. You can select the actions that matter most to you and create a tailored action plan. If any actions are completed, you can change your answer in the RMB assessment, and your score will be reviewed.
